MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. Russia’s titled figure skater, two-time Olympic Champion, Evgeni Plushenko told TASS on Tuesday he did not give up and would continue practicing despite a newly diagnosed spinal injury.
モスクワ、9月15日/タス/ ロシアチャンピオンのタイトルを持つフィギュア・スケーター、2度のオリンピック。チャンピオンのエフゲニー・プルシェンコはタス通信に、彼はあきらめていなかった、そして新たに診断された脊髄のケガにも拘わらず、練習を続けると火曜日告げた。
Alexander Gorshkov, the president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, announced earlier in the day that the famous Russian figure skater was diagnosed with a new spinal injury and would undergo another surgery. Groshkov said Plushenko was "diagnosed with a crack in an intervertebral disc" and the skater would miss the upcoming season’s competitions.
ロシアのフィギュア・スケート連盟会長のアレグザンダー・ゴルショコフは、その日先だって、ロシアの有名なフィギュア・スケーターは、新しい脊髄のケガを診断され、もう一度手術をするだろうと発表した。グロショコフは、プルシェンコは「椎間のディスクにひびがあると診断された」そして、そのスケーターは来るシーズンの競技会を欠場するだろうと言った。
"I continue my trainings," Plushenko said in an interview with TASS. "I am forced to skip this season as the new injury is troubling me. Doctors recommend a surgery, but if I decide to go for it, then it would be no earlier than March."

Although retired in the past Plushenko first stunned media in the summer of 2014 by announcing that he intended to compete for another title at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea’s PyeongChang, which may turn into his 5th career Olympics. He officially announced his comeback on April 17 this year.
過去に引退をしたが、2014年夏に、生涯で5度目のオリンピックとなるかもしれない、カノ国・平昌での冬季オリンピックで、もう一つのタイトルを掴むため競技するつもりだと発表することにより、プルシェンコはメディアの度肝を抜いた。彼は今年の4月17日に公式にカムバックを発表した。
The titled 32-year-old Russian figure skater performed in four Olympics throughout his career, winning his first Olympic gold at the 2006 Winter Games in Italy’s Turin and the second in February last year at Russia’s Winter Olympics in Sochi. He retired from sports after the Sochi Olympics.

Plushenko, who also brought Russia silver medals both at the 2002 Olympics in US Salt Lake City and at the 2010 Olympics in Canada’s Vancouver and won seven European champion titles, struggled with back injuries over the two skating seasons prior to the 2014 Sochi Olympics, but kept insisting that he would be able to perform well on his home ice.
プルシェンコは、2002年のアメリカ・ソルトレーク・シティと、2010年のカナダ・バンクーバーでの両方のオリンピックで、ロシアに銀メダルをもたらし、7度のヨーロッパ選手権のタイトルを獲得た。そして2014年のソチ・オリンピック以前の2シーズンは背中のケガに苦悶しながらも、彼の家とも言える氷の上で上手く演技が出来ると主張し続けた。
